Housing corporation Vivare will provide at least 2000 homes with complete solar power installations, including monitoring, management and maintenance. The project will go down in the history books as one of the largest sustainability operations in the housing association sector. The aim is to realize the project in 12 months, which will result in an average lower energy bill for the tenants involved of at least €133 net per year over the first 10 years. Given the current rising energy costs, this benefit can even rise to €200. a complete package of insulating measures that Vivare offered to tenants with low incomes to provide the homes with the so-called 'warm coat', the corporation now also grants other tenants the housing cost benefit with the solar power project.

“Vivare wants to create as much equal housing cost benefits as possible for all tenants,” says Eric Angenent, director of Vivare. “The solar power project also fits seamlessly with our strategic sustainability objective: reducing CO2 emissions and increasing the share of sustainably generated energy.”
