Ecorus joins UN Global Compact
Amsterdam/Eindhoven, 2 February 2022. With the official participation in the United Nations Global Compact, solar energy specialist Ecorus is making its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy visible at the start of the new year.
Initiated in 1999 by the then Secretary General Kofi Annan, the UN Global Compact is a global pact of the United Nations to motivate companies and organizations to pursue a sustainable and socially responsible policy. 21 years after its introduction, more than 19,000 companies in 162 countries have already joined.
The importance of social responsibility is growing all over the world and across all industries. It is characteristic of the globalized world, in combination with increased prosperity and awareness of sustainable and humanitarian conditions. In the photovoltaic industry, social responsibility throughout the supply chain is becoming increasingly necessary. This stems from the wishes of investors, banks, insurers and ultimately customers.
Since the foundation of Ecorus, CSR has been a supported integral part of business operations; the solar energy company will show itself to be a more active participant with the commitment to the UN Global Pact.
