Next Level and Ecorus extend partnership

Next Level, developer in sustainable and future-proof logistics real estate, and Ecorus have extended their collaboration for two years. The strategic partnership, which began in 2019 and at the time resulted in the Netherlands’ most powerful solar roof in Venlo, has already delivered five successful projects with a total capacity of 25 MWp.

A shared vision for sustainable logistics real estate

The success is not the only reason the collaboration is continuing. Both companies share the same vision of on the future of logistics spaces. “We are both committed to sustainability and innovation, which is at the core of our cooperation,” said René Geujen of Next Level. “At Next Level, we strive to create the ‘Warehouse of the Future.’ That means we not only create spaces that contribute to well-being and but also develop efficiency solar solutions. Ecorus is the partner of choice to do that with.”

A future of integrated energy solutions

With the collaboration, the two innovative companies expect to develop, build and possibly sell projects that together will generate some 50 MWp of solar energy. In doing so, Next Level and Ecorus are looking beyond traditional solar energy projects. “The future of energy in the real estate sector is about integrating complete energy systems,” says Willem Boekhoven of Ecorus. “This partnership is an example of how we are leading the energy transition together with Next Level.”

The partnership shows that you can add value by developing real estate and renewable energy at the same time. Where Next Level works on real estate development, Ecorus develops the solar energy system as a separate entity. And that turns out to be an attractive proposition for investors.

Profiting from solar energy faster

Next Level and Ecorus expect that their joint efforts will lead to a significant increase in renewable energy projects within the real estate sector. “With this partnership, we offer a faster ‘time to market’ for solar power plants and a direct contribution to the local ecosystem, allowing tenants and their customers to benefit from generated energy faster,” said Willem Boekhoven.
