At Ecorus, we’re all about making a positive impact. That’s why we commit 1% of our annual profits to support causes that matter. Always. This year, we took it up a notch by involving our team in choosing the organizations to support. The result? Three exciting partnerships that align perfectly with our mission.
So Powerful: bringing solar where it matters most
So Powerful is on a mission to install solar energy systems in critical locations like schools and hospitals in Malawi and Tanzania. Their goal is to provide reliable electricity to essential services, enhancing education and healthcare in underserved areas. Not only do we financially contribute to their projects, but we also support with materials and the time of Ecorians. This summer, two of our team members rolled up their sleeves and joined So Powerful in Tanzania. They helped install a rooftop solar system at the Sengerema Hospital, ensuring that the facility has a dependable power source to support its vital healthcare services.Solar Supports Ukraine: powering resilience amidst crisis
Solar Supports Ukraine is an initiative by the European solar sector to fund solar projects in Ukraine. Amidst ongoing challenges, the country faces frequent power outages, jeopardizing essential infrastructure like schools and hospitals. Our contribution aids in installing solar panels at these critical sites, providing them with a stable and independent energy supply.Doneer Effectief: maximizing impact through research-driven giving
Doneer Effectief (“donate effectively”) channels donations based on scientific research to ensure each euro has the maximum possible impact. Their approach is inspired by the ‘three pots’ principle by philosopher Stijn Bruers, which suggests dividing funds into:- Personal Needs: Funds for oneself and loved ones. Or in Ecorus’ case: money to run our business.
- Passion Projects: Causes close to one’s heart, such as local initiatives or charities that you feel connected to. This is why we donate to causes that help bring solar energy to places where it’s the most needed.
- Effective Giving: Donations directed by research to achieve the greatest impact. This is where only the result of the donation counts.
