Ecorus powers DSV facilities

DSV, a leading transport and logistics company, has partnered with Ecorus in the Netherlands and Belgium on several innovative projects to utilise renewable energy solutions. As well as powering DSV facilities, Ecorus is also providing charging infrastructure to support EV trucks and reduce road freight emissions.

This partnership has already resulted in the successful completion of a solar energy project in Maastricht Airport, where Ecorus took the lead on development and construction. Ecorus has also recently launched the second photovoltaic (PV) project in Venlo, which also includes the future development of a rapid DC 350kW charging system. Once complete, this will provide DSV with approximately 3.7 million kWh of renewable energy per year.

“Partnerships are key to achieving our decarbonisation goals, and we are committed to establishing strong collaborations in the countries where we operate. Currently, Ecorus is one of our key energy solution partners in the Netherlands and Belgium. We’re well-positioned for large-scale solar energy implementation. By working closely, we aim to accelerate the transition to renewable energy across our locations, further supporting our global sustainability goals” – Anders Rousing, Vice President of Group Operational Sustainability at DSV.

Exciting new project on the horizon
We are currently in the early stages of collaborating on a third project with DSV in Moerdijk, the Netherlands, which promises to be a good example of innovation and sustainability. This project will feature a large number of solar panels and charging infrastructure that will be expanded over the coming years. By integrating the solar panels with electric charging technologies, Ecorus will support DSV in their ambitions to further electrify its transport fleet and reduce its reliance on fossil fuels.

“These projects show how energy management can be optimized even with limited grid capacity for returning energy. We’re not just helping DSV shrink their ecological footprint; we’re powering their operations in the Netherlands and Belgium with clean, solar energy” – Willem Boekhoven, Senior Project Developer at Ecorus
