Van der Valk Hotels has put sustainability high on its agenda and wants to take major steps with solar energy in the new year. That is why Ecorus - market leader in the implementation of large-scale solar energy projects - has been chosen as a partner with the intention of supplying at least 40 hotels in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany with solar power. The installations will be installed on the roofs of the hotels and the construction of 20 powerful solar carports of 500 kWp has also been included in the national project. The generated green electricity will be consumed by the hotels themselves.

Construction of the solar power installations at Van der Valk Volendam, Van der Valk Sassenheim, Van der Valk Gilze Rijen and Van der Valk Waalwijk will start in January.
