One of the world’s largest logistics real estate players GLP Europe is working with Ecorus to make its real estate portfolio ‘future proof’. Since January, we have been working hard on a solar roof in Zevenaar. A good example of smart design, the G-Park project will become one of the largest solar roofs in Europe. G-Park Zevenaar is a logistics complex of 133,000 m2 and represents a major investment in sustainable energy by GLP Europe. G-Park Zevenaar is an important solar PV project for the Netherlands. The logistics complex will house a large rooftop PV system with a total installed capacity of 16.2 MWp. It covers an area the size of 21 football fields and will save 4,583 tonnes of CO2 per year and is expected to save 77,445 tonnes of CO2 over 25 years.

Generated energy directly to the tenant

G-Park Zevenaar was built according to BREEAM Excellent principles and due to the use of PV the project has been certified as BREEAM Excellent. In addition, the energy generated will be exported to the grid and part will be passed on to the tenant for their own consumption. During the installation and construction process, measures were taken to protect native birds and plants, which benefits local nature.
